An original handbill for the Grand State Lottery from June, 1808. The early advertising of the 'Tim Bobbins' type figure is interesting to see as he declares 'What a grand scheme, six prizes of £20,000'.
Tickets were sold in Cornhill, London, Charing Cross and Borough.
The handbill was printed by Gye and Balme of Gracechurch Street, London.
